The documents which have to be translated for visa and immigration processes contain very specific terminology, which the translator has to be very familiar with in order to submit precise and correct translations for immigration-related applications.

This glossary draws on years of experience translating in this field and is the result of extensive research, analysing parallel texts issued by the Spanish Register Office, studying the websites of official Spanish bodies, such as Spanish consulates and the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, and consulting the information provided by government institutions in the jurisdictions of origin.

In the glossary, you will find a two-column (English-Spanish) list of the 100 most frequently used terms in visa and immigration documents, along with a third column containing an explanation of the use of the term in context and references to the terminology in various English-speaking jurisdictions (United Kingdom, United States and Australia). I hope you find it useful!
